Origin: Shaft of radius and interosseus membrane
Insertion: Base of proximal phalanx of # 1.

Action: Wrist extension and radial deviation, extension and abduction of carpometacarpal, MP, and IP of digit # 1.

Abductor Pollicis Longus

Origin: Proximal dorsal surface of ulna and radius
Insertion: Base of metacarpal # 1.
Innervation: Deep radial
Action: Wrist extension and radial deviation, extension and abduction of first carpometacarpal jt.

Flexor Digitorum Superficialis

Origin: Medial epicondyle of humerus and radius and ulna
Insertion: lateral surface of middle phalanges of # 2-5
Innervation: Median
Action: Wrist flexion, MP, and PIP flexion of phalanges # 2-5.

Flexor Digitorum Profundus

Origin: Medial surface and coronoid process of ulna, & interosseus membrane.
Insertion: Bases of distal phalanges of # 2-5.
Innervation: Median and ulnar
Action: Wrist flexion, MP, and IP flexion.

Flexor Pollicis Longus

Origin: Anterior shaft of radius and interosseus membrane.
Insertion: Base of distal phalanx of # 1.
Innervation: Median
Action: Wrist flexion, MP and IP flexion of digit # 1.
