birth rate

The birthrate is often expressed as the number of live births per 1,000 of the population per year.

death rate

the number of deaths per unit, usually 1000, of population in a given place and time.

fertility rate

the ratio of live births in an area to the population of that area; expressed per 1000 population per year

replacement rate
