What is the velocity of a body?

The velocity of a body is its speed in a given direction.

To give the velocity of a body, you need to give both its speed and direction. How can you show direction?

Direction can be shown by an arrow OR a compass direction OR a + or - sign.
velocity = 3m/sec <--
velocity = 3m/sec west
velocity = -3m/sec

What is the acceleration of an object?

The acceleration of an object is the rate at which its velocity changes.

When bodies move in a straight line, is 'change in velocity' and 'change in speed', the same or different?
